DICHROIC BEADS, GARDENING AND COLDER WEATHER
We as alsways are making beads every day. The studio is cooler so soon we will need to build a little fire in it so we can work more comfortably. We already have a small pile of wood up near the door. Daniel just installed a new stereo so we can listen to tunes while we work. It runs on the solar panel which charges 2 - 12 volt batteries.
This week there has been a major cool down. Since I was in Hawaii last week, I need to get used to it fast. While in Hawaii, I visited my old parents. We had a great 2+ week visit. It sure seems hot there. Just about anything I did made me sweat; even trying to dry off after a show. I saw a group of leaping dolhins once. Ans sea turtles many times. It is a short drive from my parents home to a lava rocky cliff area which drops into the sea. One of my favorite beaches is along this coastline. You can see Molokai and Lanai across a channel.
I got to visit with Calvin Orr-Aiea Glass Shack and Rene Yoshida his partner. We had a nice picnic at Kailua Beach Park. We talked beads, glass, and many things. Calvin makes some amazing beads. Rene makes some really cute animal beads.
I have started garden cleanup. Not much left in the gardens other than root crops. Root crops will keep all winter if properly protected and are yummy all year long.
